Easter Morning – He is Risen Indeed!
Tom and I dropped the boys off at playcare so that we could go to Easter Vigil at St Mark Catholic Church the night before Easter. Though I can’t partake in the Eucharist, I figured it wouldn’t be sacrilegious to do the baptism renewal. The first hour of the service was conducted in the dark, which felt so fitting as it reminded me of the darkness of heart the disciples had to have been feeling when Christ was dead and sealed in a tomb. Their hopes, their faith, their beliefs dashed upon the rocks.
And the second half of the service was brightly and wonderfully lit in the celebration of the Resurrection.
Easter morning we celebrated at the Methodist church, which was fantastic as well. We went to the contemporary service, which had upbeat, modern songs of praise, worship, and the tone of the service was one of excitement. It was a great contrast to the somber service of the night before.
It was here we got this quick family pic. Not the best, but the more people you add to a picture, the harder it is to get a good shot!
